Wired NextFest 2005, Chicago
June 27, 2005

WIRED Nextfest 2005.

The WIRED NextFest this year in Chicago was really interesting, having a good mix of technology companies, military, robots, and media artists. Over 30,000 people came for the 3 day event and while it was exhausting, it was great to see the other technolgies and meet the other people exhibiting. There seemed to be no lack of video interation or augmented video inputs, but something that I cannot forget was seeing 1 of 6 real cloned cats in the world.

Well-known designers active on the front lines of design. Whom do they have their eyes on? We asked the various architects and designers that have graced the cover this magazine to introduce our readers to the up and coming creators, regardless of the field, that have most caught their attention. This issue continues in the footsteps of AXIS vol. 110 (August, 2004).

El Ultimo Grito / Yasuhiro Suzuki / Norio Surikabe / James Clar / Yuki Ishiguro / Daniel Wiesmann

James Clar can create a variety of forms and designs. When his fascination for technology decreases and he explores emotions instead I could imagine he will turn to more poetic, narrative designs with soul and perfect imperfectness.
