Inspired by James’ life in Dubai and his constant interaction with scaffolding and construction.

“Living in Dubai you probably see more scaffolding than in any other city in the world. This unintentional complexity I find very interesting as it creates an exo-skeleton over half-finished structures. It is interesting to see the way the green tarp hides the structure beneath but at night it becomes see-through because of the internal lighting. Every day you see this construction gauze until one day, like a present, it comes off and you are surprised with the building underneath.”

‘Coming Soon’ replicates the complexity of the scaffolding, the smooth fabric façade of the construction gauze, and the inner glow of the lighting.
