2009

Compact FL tubes, Acrylic, Metal, Chain
Edition of 2 + 1 AP
In architectural lighting there is a light called a 'spike light' which is a luminaire with a small spike that is driven into the ground to uplight trees.
In an effort to create a piece that matched the aggressive nature of the term ‘spike light’, James created a piece that was 1.2 m high and internally lit. The sides are made of diffused acrylic outlined with metallic chrome trim and chrome finished chain. A massive spike that needs to be chained down.
