The Difference Between Me and You
2010
30 cm x 66 cm x 145 cm
2 TVs, DVD players, Acrylic
Edition of 3 + 1 AP
Two TV screens face each other, one playing Fox News and the other Al Jazeera. In between them is a diffused piece of acrylic that takes the light from the two screens and mixes them together. This piece brings to focus the key difference between various cultures, which is the information we are given from the time we are born. The maintenance of culture and nationality is something we are trained to do. In this piece the most popular news outlets in the US and the Middle East are used as representatives of this information. Their visual information is combined and meshed together into a physical object, breaking down their political and social agenda into abstract light.
