Waves (with sunset)

(2012)
100 x 190 cm
Fluorescent Lights, Filters

Another simplification of a natural system, now that the water has built up and there is solid matter within this virtual/alternate reality (part of the “Iris Was A Pupil” exhibition at Carbon 12 Dubai), waves are created.

Here the physical lights are mounted in a wave pattern. Within the lights is another pattern of waves created through color, this is the reflection of waves on themselves. In the upper left reddish colors come though, this is the sun setting behind the waves.
