In the spring of 2008, and at the height of the global recession, this piece was written on one of the construction sites of the Dubai Metro. At that period, thousands of people were leaving Dubai due to the economic downturn. This piece was visible to drivers along Sheikh Zayed Road and those on the way to the airport.
